He Saved 669 Children During the Holocaust… And He Doesn’t Know They’re Sitting Next to Him

On the eve of the World War 2, Sir Nicholas Winton rescued and found homes for 669 Jewish children destined for a Nazi death camp. After the war, his efforts remained unknown — until his wife found a scrapbook with a complete list of names with photos of the children he saved. 50 years later, he got the surprise of his life…

This little example of everyday human kindness will warm your heart

dog21Somehow, a dog got into the Moscow subway. It was running around the platform, maybe searching for something, but slipped and fell on the rails.

The rails have an extremely high voltage, and the train was just about to arrive at the station. It was rush hour; the platform was extremely crowded. People were confused, no one knew what to do, and some even began to cry. Vladislav Potatuev, a policeman who took on this difficult challenge, rescued the dog. He jumped down on to the rails, picked up the dog, and brought it up to the platform. The whole thing took less than a minute.
dog2«I had to do something about it; it had to be quick. I wasn’t afraid. I would do the same, even if I wasn’t working that day. Anybody would», Vladislav said.

The story isn’t over. But again, it’s not really a story — it’s just a man doing his work. We would like as many people as possible to learn about what he did and say to him: «You did a good thing, thank you!» Who knows — maybe it’ll spark others to do the same.

Some absolutely crucial advice: how to recognise a heart attack one month before it happens

heartDid you know that the main cause of early death in the US are heart attacks? The stressful way of life and the junk food we keep eating is a great contributor for this illness becoming so common and so dangerous over the last years.

Leading a healthy lifestyle and trying to decrease the levels of stress in your life can help protect you from heart failure, but another thing that can be very useful, even lifesaving, is knowing the symptoms of heart failure a month before it happens.

These are the symptoms that you might have a heart attack in a month. Make sure you always treat these as red flags.

1. Fatigue

When the arteries become narrow your heart receives a lot less blood than it is used to. This makes the heart work a whole lot harder than it normally would have to, leaving you feeling overly tired and drowsy just about all of the time.

2. Shortness of breath

When your heart is getting less blood this means it your lungs are not going to be able to get as much oxygen to the lungs as you normally would. The two systems depend on one another so without one you can’t have the other. If you have been having trouble breathing it is best to consult a doctor as soon as possible, this could mean it is getting close to time for your attack.

3. Weakness

When your body becomes weak, all of a sudden it is because the arteries becoming more narrow are not allowing blood circulation properly. Your muscles aren’t getting what they need, and this could cause you to fall even for what may seem like at first no reason so be especially careful.

4. Dizziness and cold sweats

The poor circulations is also causing the blood flow to your brain to be restricted. This is very life threatening. This will at first cause dizziness and clamminess. You should not ignore this.

5. Chest pressure

If you are having onset symptoms of a heart attack chances are you have been experiencing discomfort in your chest, whether it’s minor pain or built-up pressure. This will constantly increase until the attack itself happens.

6. Flu or cold symptoms

If you feel as if you are having flu symptoms out of nowhere this could be because the attack itself is about to happen within the near future. Many people feel they have developed a cold just days before their attacks.

How to handle this:

If you or someone you know is experiencing these symptoms, please see a doctor as soon as possible. The best way to prevent a heart attack is by noticing the symptoms early on.

True love is when polar bears see snow for the first time

“This was a special day for the polar bears, and I could tell they really loved it,” said Susan Purtell, senior keeper, San Diego Zoo. “It was great seeing them roll around in the snow, showcasing their natural behaviors.”

A Half-Naked Homeless Man Is Ignored On A Train. Then A Stranger Does THIS And Restores My Faith Humanity.

Unfortunately, loads of people in this world live under excruciatingly painful and painful conditions.

It is difficult to know everyone’s story and be able to understand just what leads to difficult situations. This is certainly true with regards to homeless people. I for one often wonder how they end up on the street.

Still, many judge them, and I think that’s just sad. At the end of the day, they are human like everyone else and we can only guess as to how they ended up in their difficult situation.

On the other hand, many show compassion and humanity rather than judge them. And that is what happens in this clip, which made my eyes water.

A man saw a homeless man sitting and shivering on a subway, and while others ignored and walked by him, he did something entirely different.

Another passenger on the train depicted what happened. It is really worth the watch, if only to momentarily restore your faith in humanity.

You Should Never Post Online or Throw Away Your Airport Boarding Pass. Here’s Why

During our flight, we need to take good care of our passports and boarding pass as these are among the most important things that we will need upon boarding. And while we consider a boarding pass an important component of our sojourn, we treat this piece of paper differently. Some people are so excited about the travel that they take pictures of their boarding pass and post in online. There are also some people who throw the boarding pass away while others leave it on their seats.

A boarding pass is just a piece of card that contains the name of the passenger, flight number, destination, seat number, and gate number so after the flight, most people think that throwing it anywhere, misplacing it, or even taking pictures of it is harmless.never-throw-away-airport-boarding-pass-security-risks

But did you know that a boarding pass must be taken care of even after boarding? Winston Krone, a forensic expert, explained that a boarding pass has a bar code that contains the passenger’s personal information such as the name, home address, email address, and contact number. As such, a hacker can easily gain access to your personal information as well as financial details.

You might be wondering how your personal information can be seen in a boarding pass. This is how it happens. Once the bar code in the boarding pass is placed in a bar code reader, all the passenger’s information contained in that bar code is revealed; and this precious information is can be used by hackers or thieves.

Make sure that you keep your boarding pass safe before, during, and after the flight, and that you tear it down to pieces before throwing it away so nobody can gain access to the bar code.

It’s also safer not to take pictures and post online photos of your boarding pass. With the advanced technology that we have today, you can never be too sure. Who knows, your personal information may be acquired with a few swipes and a few clicks. For more detailed information, please watch the video.

Military Mom Holds Her Baby. When Bullies Take A Closer Look, They Call Her The Unthinkable…

A Navy mom, Amanda Langendoerfer from San Diego, posted a few photographs of her and her son on Facebook. The photos quickly caused public outcry. The photographer, Vanessa Simmons, commended the mother, but commenters were quick to judge for one shocking reason. The mother was breastfeeding in uniform. A few weeks later, another group of military moms posted a similar photo causing the same outrage. What’s peculiar is that the pictures are anything but revealing. The mothers are completely covered up, and yet the public took issue with the act of breastfeeding itself.

Bullies told her, “duty comes before family,” and that she — a woman who fights for our country — was unprofessional. But Amanda’s command came to her defense. While breastfeeding policies vary base to base, recently the U.S. Army base in Hawaii changed their policy, saying that “Nursing mothers will not be subject to harassment, ridicule or intimidation.”

“It turned a really positive thing for me, into a really negative thing,” Amanda says. “After the picture came out, it made me feel like I was doing something wrong by breastfeeding my son and being in the military.”

If the U.S. Army can get behind breastfeeding mothers, then do you think the rest of us should?

Husband Takes Off And Leaves Wife With Six Kids. Three Months Later, She Discovers THIS In The Family Car.

Life can often be tough and unfair.

At some point, sooner or later, everyone goes through difficult periods. And during these difficult times, there is often only one thing that can strengthen and comfort us, and that is love. Whether it be from family, friends, or a random stranger – small acts of kindness can are beautiful little miracles.

This story demonstrates just that. It is difficult to confirm whether this story occurred in reality, although I feel like it very possibly did. Either way, it’s the message that is most important, and something we can all carry with us.

Here’s her story:

In September 1960, I woke up one morning with six hungry babies and just 75 cents in my pocket. Their father was gone. The boys ranged from three months to seven years; their sister was two. Their dad had never been much more than a presence they feared.

Whenever they heard his tires crunch on the gravel driveway they would scramble to hide under their beds.

He did manage to leave $15 a week to buy groceries. Now that he had decided to leave, there would be no more beatings, but no food either.

If there was a welfare system in effect in southern Indiana at that time, I certainly knew nothing about it. I scrubbed the kids until they looked brand new and then put on my best homemade dress, loaded them into the rusty old 51 Chevy and drove off to find a job.

The seven of us went to every factory, store and restaurant in our small town. No luck.

The kids stayed crammed into the car and tried to be quiet while I tried to convince whomever would listen that I was willing to learn or do anything. I had to have a job.

bigwheel

Still no luck. The last place we went to, just a few miles out of town, was an old Root Beer Barrel drive-in that had been converted to a truck stop. It was called the Big Wheel.

An old lady named Granny owned the place and she peeked out of the window from time to time at all those kids. She needed someone on the graveyard shift, 11 at night until seven in the morning. She paid 65 cents an hour, and I could start that night. I raced home and called the teenager down the street that baby-sat for people.

I bargained with her to come and sleep on my sofa for a dollar a night. She could arrive with her pajamas on and the kids would already be asleep. This seemed like a good arrangement to her, so we made a deal.

That night when the little ones and I knelt to say our prayers, we all thanked God for finding Mommy a job. And so I started at the Big Wheel.

When I got home in the mornings I woke the baby-sitter up and sent her home with one dollar of my tip money – fully half of what I averaged every night. As the weeks went by, heating bills added a strain to my meager wage.

The tires on the old Chevy had the consistency of penny balloons and began to leak. I had to fill them with air on the way to work and again every morning before I could go home.

One bleak fall morning, I dragged myself to the car to go home and found four tires in the back seat. New tires! There was no note, no nothing, just those beautiful brand new tires. Had angels taken up residence in Indiana ? I wondered.

I made a deal with the local service station. In exchange for his mounting the new tires, I would clean up his office. I remember it took me a lot longer to scrub his floor than it did for him to do the tires.

I was now working six nights instead of five and it still wasn’t enough. Christmas was coming and I knew there would be no money for toys for the kids.

I found a can of red paint and started repairing and painting some old toys. Then hid them in the basement so there would be something for Santa to deliver on Christmas morning. Clothes were a worry too. I was sewing patches on top of patches on the boys pants and soon they would be too far gone to repair.

On Christmas Eve the usual customers were drinking coffee in the Big Wheel. These were the truckers, Les, Frank, and Jim, and a state trooper named Joe.

A few musicians were hanging around after a gig at the Legion and were dropping nickels in the pinball machine. The regulars all just sat around and talked through the wee hours of the morning and then left to get home before the sun came up.

When it was time for me to go home at seven o’clock on Christmas morning, to my amazement, my old battered Chevy was filled full to the top with boxes of all shapes and sizes. I quickly opened the driver’s side door, crawled inside and kneeled in the front facing the back seat.

Reaching back, I pulled off the lid of the top box. Inside was whole case of little blue jeans, sizes 2-10! I looked inside another box: It was full of shirts to go with the jeans. Then I peeked inside some of the other boxes. There was candy and nuts and bananas and bags of groceries.

There was an enormous ham for baking, and canned vegetables and potatoes. There was pudding and Jell-O and cookies, pie filling and flour. There was a whole bag of laundry supplies and cleaning items. And there were five toy trucks and one beautiful little doll.

As I drove back through empty streets as the sun slowly rose on the most amazing Christmas Day of my life, I was sobbing with gratitude. And I will never forget the joy on the faces of my little ones that precious morning.
