Shane Rader was away from his sister and brother Elizabeth and John while he was stationed in Italy such a great distance from his home in Gilbert, Arizona. Elizabeth his sister was watching the television in the family living room at their home when the family dog tried to alert her that there was someone in the house by barking loudly, but Elizabeth didn’t think much of it.
until she had the shock of her life and an incredible reaction when she discovers right at the last moment who is standing over her.
The siblings had been incredibly close as children and it was hard on both of them having such a great separation between them for such a long time.
Shane finally was able to come home and having had such a tight bond with his sister he and John decided plan a sneaky surprise for Elizabeth and not tell her.

What an inspirational story and it really shows the true kindness we can have as human beings and the true meaning of Christmas, help those who are less fortunate than yourself, not gifts nor presents for loved ones! Giving is the best way to show true Christian faith.
Treat others as you want to be treated – and remember, your good deeds will be rewarded, sooner or later. This old adage may be centuries old, but it remains so true.
We’ve seen it with the waitress who got one heck of a surprise from the firemen she offered free breakfast to one day – now we see it once again, with Melina Salazar.
The Luby restaurant waitress from Brownsville, Texas, had an experience that proved karma is definitely real. Read more below.
No matter rain or shine, Melina greeted her customers with a smile. Her positive attitude inspired her guests to see the good in life.
Not all guests, however. One man in particular, Walter “Buck” Swords was, well, a little more difficult than most. The 89-year-old who’d been visiting the restaurant for 7 years whined and complained constantly.
He never seemed to be happy with what he got, sometimes having grumpoy outbursts. No one really liked Walter – and well, Walter didn’t seem to like anyone much either.
But Melina could handle the elderly man.

Every day during for 7 years, she waited on the 89-year-old with warmth and patience. She accepted his grumpiness with a smile. She served his food with style. She never hesitated to give him friendly words – even when she was was met with his grumpy mood and rather offensive demeanor.
Years passed and it was the same thing every day. For Melina, serving Walter was in some ways a therapeutic experience.
But one day, everything changed. Walter didn’t show up at his usual time for his usual meal.
It wasn’t long before Melina got the sad news – Walter had passed away.

The next day, a lawyer showed up at the restaurant looking for Melina. He pulled her aside and they sat for a chat. The reason for his visit? Walter. The lawyer informed her that his client had shared with him how for all those years he very much looked forward to his regular restaurant visits – and that was because of how warm and friendly his waitress was.
Melina took in the surprise news with a smile. But seconds later, she received shocking news.
Walter was so fond of the kind waitress, he’d in fact left her part of his inheritance: USD $50,000 and a car. Melina couldn’t hold back the tears.

In March 2016, a homeless man wandered into Abi’s Cafe in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He right looked at the owner, Cesia Abigail, and asked her for money.
“Why don’t you have a job?” Cesia replied. “You know nothing is given to me for free, right?”
The homeless man, Marcus, proceeded to explain to Cesia that while he would love nothing more than a job, his history of felonies made it nearly impossible to convince employers to hire him.
To stay alive, Marcus was forced to turn to stealing and panhandling.
But instead of turning Marcus away, Cesia decided to do something so incredible that her story went massively viral…

Cesia had recently been struggling to keep her El Salvadorean restaurant afloat.
In March 2016, a homeless man named Marcus walked inside Abi’s Cafe and asked Cesia for money. She felt an instant connection with the man who lived on the streets.
Cesia could not offer Marcus any money. She was exhausted, overworked and underpaid. But she did need a hand.

“I was short staff that day,” Cesia wrote on Facebook. “So I asked him, ‘You want to work? I have a job for you!’
His eyes opened wide and his smile made my day!!!! He said, ‘I’ll do anything for some food.’
So now for almost 2 weeks he been on time for his two hour shift… helping take trash, washing dishes, etc.
Once I pay him, guess what he does? He buys food from my restaurant (HE DECIDES TO PAY) because it makes him feel good!”

With a newfound sense of dignity and self-respect, Marcus was a changed man. One day, Cesia saw him wrapping up half of his sandwich and giving it to a homeless woman.
“Do something nice for someone today and don’t judge them just because they out there asking for money for we don’t know their situation… some deserve another shot,” Cesia writes on Facebook.

It was still dark out at 4:30 a.m. when Patrick Hennessey drove to work in Orange County, FL.
He thought it was going to be a morning like any other, until he saw mysterious shapes cowering in the middle of the road. Slowing down, he was shocked to discover the shapes were two pit bulls. One was injured and bleeding, and they each refused to leave the other’s side.
Hennessey immediately called the police. Soon, Deputy Reed and Deputy Boggs from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene. The dogs were nervous, but seemed calm when the officers approached them gently.
Pit bulls are in a precarious situation thanks to misconceptions about the breed. Because people think they’re inherently violent, they’re often passed over in shelters, abandoned, and euthanized. In particularly gruesome circumstances, they’re even exploited as fighting dogs.
But anyone who’s been around one knows how sweet they are, and how they’re willing to make friends with just about anyone, even a cranky chicken.
On the street, the officers gently led the dogs off the road to a safe area.
By that point, the dogs were convinced the officers were there to help. They snuggled up to them, looking for a little comfort after what must have been a harrowing night.

Deputies Reed and Boggs arrived on the scene at 4:30 a.m. in Orange County, FL, surprised to find two frightened, seemingly abandoned pit bulls cowering in the middle of the street.
They’d been spotted by a man driving to work, who immediately called for help. One of them was injured, bleeding from her leg.

After moving the pit bulls out of the road, it became clear that they were in serious need of some comfort. The officers were more than happy to oblige.
The dogs leaned against them and cuddled them. No one’s sure what they went through, but it seems it was a lot.

The officers applied gauze bandages to the one dog’s injured leg, stopping the bleeding.
The dogs both had collars, so it’s possible they were intentionally abandoned.

Deputies Reed and Boggs stayed with the dogs until Orange County Animal Services arrived. They took the dogs to the local shelter, where they were checked out, cleaned up, and given time to rest.

After posting the photos above, the community was delighted at the quick action and compassion of the officers.
Especially touched were people with pit bulls of their own, who know how often dogs of this breed end up in bad situations.

Today, the rescued dogs are doing well and looking for forever homes.
The dogs, both girls, were given the names Justice and Liberty. The shelter staff says they’re sweet, lovable, and friendly.

We can come and go as we please, but for dogs, socializing might prove to be a bit more difficult, especially when they are surrounded by dull fences and blocked off from the rest of the world. After seeing his dogs become excited about a new friend, one crafty pet owner found the perfect solution.
Reddit user ryanispiper noticed his three dogs had become fast friends with the dog next door. The group would often play chase along the fence, and curiously peer at one another through the thin gaps in his fence.
He felt they should be able to see each other, so he built them a customized fence window

The dogs really do enjoy it,” he said. “They go out each morning and visit with each other if they are all out together. They still chase each other along the fence line, but I think they are happier actually seeing who they are chasing. They give each other some puppy love and sometimes just stare or bark at each other a bit.”
Many other dog owners have installed dog windows in their fences, and added their own creative touches to them as well.

Dogs are curious and friendly, so having a window of their own where they can observe the outdoors and receive visits is just what they need. After all, we couldn’t imagine our own homes without windows!
It’s both heartbreaking and angering to think that there are actually people out there in the world who would bring pain and suffering to something as beautiful as their pet dog. These animals are absolutely obsessed with their humans, so to take advantage of that purity and to do something as pointlessly cruel as abandoning them is one of the meanest things someone could do.
Bambi and Booboo were driven to a busy parking lot down in Florida. They were taken out of the car and dropped on the pavement, and they remained there for what must have seemed like forever. The two dogs had already formed a strong bond with each other, and no matter what happened, they refused to leave each other’s side. They stayed in the same spot, probably hoping that their human would come back to pick them up, but that never happened.
Thankfully, for all the bad people out there, there is a majority of people who actually love dogs and will do whatever it takes to help them. Soon enough, a team of amazing rescuers came to make sure these puppies were taken in and given a good home! But before that, you have to catch them! Catching one dog is hard enough, but to capturing two who refuse to leave each other? That’s going to take some dedication!
It took some hard work, and a lot of worry, time, and money, but soon enough, this “boyfriend and girlfriend” were on their way to a forever home filled with love and respect!

Thankfully, after a long night of failed searching, the rescuers decided to bring the boyfriend back. They placed him in the passenger’s seat and waited. Nearly instantly, the girlfriend showed up and slowly began to approach the car.

These two were in such desperate need to be back together that she actually jumped into the car all on her own. These animals are well behaved, very sociable, and flat-out sweet. To abandon them in a parking lot is pretty awful, but thankfully, they’re safe and happy!
It seems that the only way they’ll find a new forever home will be if their new human adopts them both, but after watching the video below, something tells me that’s going to happen pretty soon!
