Anyone who says cats are boring has never met a cat like Wilbur.
Sure, some cats can be aloof, while others can be little hellians…They each have little quirks that make us laugh every day.
Take Wilbur, for instance. On the surface he may look like just another short-haired domestic cat from the shelter, but when his humans took him home, they discovered he has a very peculiar way of sitting.
Instead of folding his legs up neatly underneath him like most cats, or lounging on his side, Wilbur just kind of squats down with his legs out in front.
Pictures of his hilarious “squatting” have been bringing joy to people all over the internet, so now Wilbur can add “celebrity” to his list of kitty accomplishments!

Wilbur’s humans are named Sara and Grant.
This is the picture Sara posted on Instagram the day they brought Wibur home from the animal shelter.
The caption read: “Adoption complete! Grant and I finally adopted this handsome boy! Everyone, meet purrrefect little Wilbur!”
In the first few days that they had him home, Wilbur spent most of his time getting used to his new surroundings.
This mostly consisted of taking lots of naps on the couch.
When he wasn’t sleeping, however, the couple started to notice something peculiar about the way Wilbur sits.
For some reason, and only when the mood strikes, Wilbur will squat with his furry knees tucked in front of him.
Doesn’t he look like the cutest little gargoyle you’ve ever seen?
Pictures of Wilbur posted to Imgur earned nearly 100,000 views — so many that viral entertainment website 9Gag took notice and reposted the images on their Instagram account.
This picture alone has received over 700,000 likes — making it an official viral hit.
“Wilbur actually doesn’t sit like that all the time, but he does sometimes,” Sara told the Huffington Post.
“His torso is either too long or his legs are too short, so he always sits in odd positions.”
We think Wilbur’s style of popping a squat is hilarious, and we’re so glad he’s found a family that loves his quirky behavior.

All of us love our pets because they know how to make us feel warm and content on the inside, however bad our day has been. Their love and affection for us and the ways in which they so readily show us how they’re feeling really is one of the most wonderful things we can ever experience. It’s virtually impossible to look at your pet and not start smiling from ear to ear.
Perhaps this is true above all in the case of dogs. Here are 24 dogs whose smiles are so charming and cute that you cannot help but grin back at them.
When a puppy ends up at a shelter, it’s often skittish and afraid of strangers. And while animal rescue workers and volunteers do their best to comfort and re-socialize the dogs, puppies have to go through one more traumatic event before they’re ready to be adopted into loving homes: surgery to spay or neuter them.
So at 12 to 16 weeks old, baby Meesha had already been through a lot when she was recently spayed at BARCS Animal Shelter, in Baltimore, Maryland. Once her anesthesia wore off, Meesha started to feel the pain and was obviously frightened. But luckily, Dennis Moses was there to calm the startled pup.
Moses is a surgical assistant at BARCS, but for him, patient care doesn’t end in the operating room. After assisting with surgery, Moses focuses on making sure that each dog is comfortable.
“If you’ve ever had surgery, you wake up, and you’re not sure where you’re at,” Moses told The Dodo, “It’s a scary thing even for dogs and cats, especially being in the shelter and being that young.”
So when baby Meesha started whimpering uncontrollably, Moses took her into the quiet hallway and comforted her with kisses and gentle words. And fortunately, a volunteer just happened to capture the sweet moment on video.
The comfort that Moses shows Meesha will melt your heart.
Within a day of BARCS posting the video, Meesha found a home. The shelter wrote on its Facebook page: “She was spayed yesterday morning. She is doing just fine for adoption today. The new family knows to be extra careful and keep her calm.”
Baby Meesha was coming off her anesthesia and was a little scared because her body felt so weird. BARCS Surgical Assistant Dennis Moses took her out into the quiet hallway to comfort her. One of our awesome volunteers just happened to be walking by to capture this sweet moment. Thank you to Dennis and all the staff who work long, tireless hours in the background of our shelter—saving lives and loving the animals. (Turn on the sound, it will melt your heart!)
