Post traumatic disorder is a serious condition. War veterans are usually known to suffer from it. There are a lot of therapy programs conducted to help vets deal with their emotional scars; ranging from conventional to animal therapy. Animal therapy usually includes the use of dogs. Recently, horses have also been brought into use. But there is a unique alternative to medication called wolf therapy as well.
The video below gives us a glimpse into the Warriors and Wolves program. This program takes place at the Lockwood Animal Rescue Center in Lockwood Valley, California. At this center, the mission is to heal vets through the help of nature. There are 40 animals housed in the facility that were rescued from terrible situations themselves. Veterans volunteer to help out and that’s how they end up making connections with the animals.

Who do you love? What do you love? Where do you love to hide to get away from it all?
Photography is a powerful voice for all things, physical and metaphorical. How can the people and things you love be expressed with light, movement, and color?
National Geographic Magazine held a photo contest about this most important feeling in the world. WE chose the best pictures that remind us of our loved ones and that love is always around.
After 29 years of work as a police officer in El Paso, Texas, the time had come for Tony Scherb to retire. Tony had always been a conscientious police officer, described as extremely professional. He was, in other words, not a man willing to mock himself or take his job lightly.
When came the time to hand in his badge for good, it appears Tony felt he could finally let loose.
He steps into the elevator, just as Silentó’s ever-popular “Whip/Nae Nae” song comes on…
What ensues has since gotten millions around the world laughing. I cracked up almost immediately. This man, serious or not, and cop or not, clearly has an a great sense of humor.
Make sure you watch this entire clip from beginning to end. You won’t regret it.
Like if you agree this good-natured cop deserves an excellent retirement!
I had not heard of Red Skelton before, but after coming across this list of ‘one-liners’ from the popular American comedian/entertainer, I sure wish I had!
Skelton, who died in 1977, was best known for performing on the radio and television between 1937 and 1971, as well as hosting the tv program “The Red Skelton Show”.
This is a popular list of some of his one-liners about marriage in particular. To me, every single one is gold.
Sure, if you’re a woman you have to have a sense of humor to appreciate some of these, and not be too sensitive.
Here is Red Skelton’s “Recipe for a Perfect Marriage”.
1. Two times a week we go to a nice restaurant, have a little beverage, good food and companionship. She goes on Tuesdays, I go on Fridays.
2. We also sleep in separate beds. Hers is in California , and mine is in Texas..
3. I take my wife everywhere….but she keeps finding her way back.
4. I asked my wife where she wanted to go for our anniversary. ‘Somewhere I haven’t been in a long time!’ she said. So I suggested the kitchen.
5. We always hold hands. If I let go, she shops.
6. She has an electric blender, electric toaster and electric bread maker. She said ‘There are too many gadgets, and no place to sit down!’ So I bought her an electric chair.
7. My wife told me the car wasn’t running well because there was water in the carburetor. I asked where the car was. She told me, ‘In the lake.’
8. She got a mud pack, and looked great for two days. Then the mud fell off.
9. She ran after the garbage truck, yelling, ‘Am I too late for the garbage?’ The driver said, ‘No, jump in!’
10. Remember: Marriage is the number one cause of divorce.
11. I married Miss Right. I just didn’t know her first name was Always.
12. I haven’t spoken to my wife in 18 months I don’t like to interrupt her.
13. The last fight was my fault though. My wife asked, ‘What’s on the TV?’ I said, ‘Dust!’
Share with everyone you know who has a great sense of humor, too!

The HotTug. A Motorized Floating Wood-Fired Hot Tub!
The HotTug is the first wood-fired hot tub boat in the world and you can put it right at the top of my Christmas wish list. Just picture enjoying yourself in the warm waters of this hot tub and surrounded by the glacier waters of winter and snow…
Seating 6 people comfortably (8 peeps if you’re really close friends), the wood-fired hot tub is an extremely stable boat that is available in two versions: With an integrated electric motor of 2.4 KW you can cruise around for about 2.5 or 8 hours depending on your version. With an outboard engine it depends on how much gas (petrol) you can carry.
The boat is constructed from wood and fitted with glass fiber reinforced polyester (size 230 x 380 x 110 cm). It can be sailed with or without water, has a stainless steel stove with a double-walled pipe and is powered by a nice and quiet built-in electric motor. A ‘folding pipe’ is available for HotTugs that sail through landscape with low bridges (50 cm / 20 inches clearance).
The HotTug contains about 1800 litres of water and takes about 2.5 hours to heat with the wood-burning stove in front of the boat. The warms warms to 38° Celsius or 100° Farenheit. Emptying the Hot Tug is done with an electric submersible pump in just about 20 minutes.
Details:
The standard color is black, but the Hot Tug is available in any RAL and NCS colour.
The Designer
The HotTug is a design by Supergoed: as simple as it is ingenious. Supergoed is owned by Frank de Bruijn, who works on a barge in the port of Rotterdam. Frank has a soft spot for places where the natural and cultivated go hand in hand. His love of freedom, campfires, open water swimming and meals in the open air is expressed in many of his designs. “The feel of the outdoors is very important to me,” says De Bruijn. “Now the HotTug is expanding my work horizon to the water as well.”
Frank de Bruyn: “It’s much more than a boat, it’s a vessel with different options. When the tug is filled, there is only a narrow rim between you and the water, making you feel at one with your surroundings.” Frank’s long experience of wood stoves while living and working on his own barge helped him to develop a wood-burning underwater stove. This is what heats the 2000 litres of water in the HotTug to a pleasant 38 degrees Celsius (100 degrees F.) in a few hours.
Rentable in The Netherlands
Currently you can rent the HotTug at two locations in the Netherlands. In the North of the Netherlands, in IJlst, one hour drive from Amsterdam and in Rotterdam 40 minutes by fast train from Amsterdam. You can book online and find more information about the different locations and prices at the rental website
Many people use their wheeled tiny homes to travel around the world.
Some like the peace and quiet that the downgraded size offers, and others have built their homes to prove a personal point.
In the past, we have seen people like 70-year-old Peter Matheson, who have shown the world that tiny home living can be easier and more functional than most people think.
M.J. Boyle is another avid fan of tiny homes — but has built hers for quite a different reason.
For the past year or so, she has poured all her energy and time into constructing the home of her dreams, one that would become her safe haven after her children grew up and left the house.
She chronicles the process and gives opinions on the true meaning of finding a passion and purpose on her blog, “My Empty Nest.”
Scroll further to see photos of this beautiful tiny home interior, and let us know what you think in the comments below!
Blogger, designer, and builder M.J. Boyle became interested in “all things tiny and old” when she was 12.
After becoming fascinated with a beautiful, abandoned farmhouse near her family home, she started sketching her own home plans for the future.
Today, she has finished building her own tiny home on wheels, named “My Empty Nest.”
For a little over a year, M.J. poured all of her energy, time, and resources into making sure this tiny home would be the place of her dreams.
There still needs to be a composting toilet, some sealing and caulking done here and there, and new curtain rods on the countertops, but all in all, it has turned out wonderfully.
The home holds a great significance for M.J.
Ever since her kids left home, she has sought a new form of refuge, a way to relieve her stress.
“You’ve been my happy place,” she writes to her tiny home on her blog, “and given me challenges to conquer and problems to solve.”
The construction process and maintenance on the home have given her a renewed sense of purpose.
Even in times of distress, M.J. has managed to make the best of each situation and find joy in the progress she has made with the home.
“I even made a tiny table just big enough for a turkey dinner for two.”
M.J. has invited all her closest friends to see the home, and they were all just as ecstatic about the new project as she is.
“I’m not sure that others would be so emotional about their tiny houses, but this ending is so bittersweet for me,” M.J. wrote.
To remind herself that life is full of love, joy, and surprises, she has decorated the space with objects that are stamped with little phrases of wisdom and encouragement.
For now, M.J. is still in transition, so she hasn’t decided when she will move into the tiny home full-time.
She still wants to upholster the chairs, add barn wood accents, and finish the time capsule above the doorway.
“You have helped me see that no matter where my kids are, and even if I am your only official occupant, you will never be truly empty,” she wrote.
M.J.’s greatest wish is for the tiny home to become a quiet, peaceful space where friendship and love can grow.
And even though her children are grown up and have moved on with their adult lives, she believes that her home and life will forever be filled with memories, laughter, harmony, and, some day, even grandkids.

Nik Nak just wanted to be loved, that’s all any dog really wants in life. Toys and treats are all well and good, but at the end of the day, they just want to get nice pets and have a human to love and to be loved by in return.
So when Nik Nak was dropped off by his owners at a local vet, the vet technicians were appalled when they said he should just be put down, and that he was “too yucky” to be kept alive and that the world would be a better place with him not in it.
It’s hard to believe that there are actually people like that in the world, but all that matters is that Nik Nak is no longer in their hands. The amazing team of vets gave him a bath for the first time ever, and began to nurse this little guy back to health. He had scabs all over his face, and it took some time, but eventually he began to look a bit better. It turned out he was only “ugly” because those two rotten humans had taken such poor care of him to begin with!
Then, Kam Nurock decided to take the little guy in as a foster parent. She looked after him and prepared him for that beautiful day when he was finally adopted for good by a family who would actually treat him well.
But after a few weeks, Kam realized that she had finally found the dog she had been waiting for, and that Nik Nak had been home all along!
Please watch Nik Nak’s incredible journey below.
