“In my work you can see that I’m not afraid to fall in love with those who are on my pictures.”
On October 2 was born the famous Annie Leibovitz — the photographer whose works the whole world knows, but to this day not everyone can easily call their author. Over forty years of her artistic career Annie Leibovitz tried herself in various genres of photography: interior photography, landscape, still life, reportage and genre sketches, nudes, and of course portrait work. And it is characteristic portraits that brought her international fame and revealed her talent as a photographer.
Heroes of photographs of Annie Leibovitz are not only famous musicians, actors, models and policies, but also ordinary people of different professions and ages.
Annie Leibovitz was born on October 2, 1949 in the small town of Westport (a suburb of Waterbury, Connecticut, United States), the son of Samuel and Marilyn Leibovitz. Annie Leibovitz’s father – an Air Force officer, her mother – a teacher of modern dance at the Art Institute of San Francisco. Annie Leibovitz originally wanted to become an art teacher, so after graduating from high school she went to college, where her mother worked. In the art of photography she first became interested during a trip to Japan after the second year at college. Upon returning home, Annie Leibovitz immediately signed up for a photography course. In the third year she decides to leave school and went in search of new experiences with archaeological expedition to Israel to excavate the palace of King Solomon. This is where Annie comes up with the idea to dedicate her life to the art of photography. In her own memoirs, one day she was sitting in a room leafing through magazines of “Rolling Stone” — photos of musicians were the starting point of her career.
After returning from Israel to the United States, she managed not only to get acquainted with the ideological inspirer and chief editor of the magazine “Rolling Stone” Gen Wenner, but also to become a freelance photographer for its publication. Talented photographer Annie Leibovitz is appreciated — in a few years she became the main photographer of the most popular magazine in the musical environment. Over the next thirteen years, she has tirelessly pointed the camera lens on the famous musicians, actors and politicians. Many of her pictures later become world famous.

I love sleeping in public, but I’m always worried that I’m going to wake up in some other weird fantasy world where Doritos and Mountain Dew were never invented.
If God didn’t want us to see each other’s junk, he wouldn’t have made everything in the world look like it.
Check out These people that have perfectly mastered the ancient art of the sleep-fu! 🙂
When we’re kids, our siblings might as well be our worst enemies. They borrow our clothes without asking, get jealous of our new toys, tattle on us to our parents and are basically the thorn in our youthful sides.
Until they’re not. The older we get, the closer many of us grow to our siblings.
The phenomenon of getting closer as we get older has been confirmed by science. A study published in the Journal of Adolescent Research in 2005 found that as we get older, we become more independent and separate from our siblings, which actually contributes to increased intimacy and closer bonds. Distance and maturity makes the hearts of 20-somethings grow fonder for their sibs.
Which means now, more than ever, we should appreciate all they’ve done for us. Go ahead — it will make your parents so happy.
Inspiration is all around us: you can derive new ideas from people you meet, places you visit and observations you make. Sometimes it is enough just to take a look around and observe the beauty of nature surrounding us everywhere.
For instance, spring is often considered the most beautiful and inspirational period of the year, with its refreshing, colorful, vivid imagery and structures. And this post hopes to prove just that.
Today we’d like to embrace spring and let it embrace you. We have collected 40 breathtaking examples of springtime photography showing the wonders of this season.

For the last 10 years, Debbie Does Cakes has been creating custom sculpted cakes for customers in the San Francisco Bay area. By Debbie’s account, “a sculpted cake is a cake carved by hand to resemble anything other than cake”. Debbie does not design traditional cakes of any kind, focusing strictly on one of a kind centerpieces; works of art designed exclusively for her clients and their events.
After learning the ropes at an erotic bakery, Debbie has gone on to create incredible food artworks which you can find online at the links below. In 2012, Debbie even released her first book “Twisted Cakes, Deliciously Evil Designs for Every Occasion“.
Below you will find a selection of Debbie’s sculpted cake designs that look like other foods and meals. You can find much more of her work (including non food-related pieces) at the links below.

We love our cats and dogs, especially when they can make a not-so-fun activity (like cleaning) more bearable. So when we came across Adorable Animals Helping like the little kitty who couldn’t wait to dust, we were reminded of all the times our furry friends appeared to be trying to pitch in with housework.
Whether they’re just keeping us company while we do laundry or even holding the dust pan when we sweep (now that’s kind of impressive), we appreciate our furry friends helping out–opposable thumbs or not. Check out these 15 adorable animals acting like humans by lending a hand with chores.
Do not worry, I’m from the tech support. I’ll fix this!
